Individual Match Play - Single Elimination

Bracket pairings will be randomly drawn by the CGA Board. All pairings and match results will be available by clicking on the "Brackets and Results" button below.   

Our goal this year is to have as many participants as possible play their first round match on Saturday the 26th.  For those who cannot make the March 26th date, you will still have 2 weeks to complete your first round match.

Each player plays his own ball until holing out, conceding the hole or until his opponent concedes a putt or a hole.  Handicaps will be applied to each match and will be based off 100% of the player's course handicap from the tees chosen when player joined the CGA.  Scorecards will be dotted for each match based off the lower handicap of the two contestants.  Example:  A 10-handicapper is playing a 6-handicapper.  The player with the course handicap of 10 will receive four strokes in the match (10 - 6 = 4) and those will be the only holes dotted on the card.  

If the match is tied at the end of 18 holes, golfers will proceed back to Hole 1 and continue the match until someone wins a sudden death hole.  Strokes will apply on holes as originally marked on the card

Match scorecards will be available in a folder by the "score posting" computer in the pro shop. 

** Change from previous years -- At the completion of your round, sign and date the scorecard and text a photo of the card to 7704039116.  We will attempt to keep the brackets updated on a daily basis and texting a photo of the scorecard makes this easier to do.

Prizes:

Winners coming out of round 1 receives: $20  (Round 1 concludes on April 17)

Winners coming out of round 2 receives an additional: $30

Winners coming out of round 3 receives an additional: $40  (Sweet 16)

Winners coming out of round 4 receives an additional: $100 (Elite 8)

Winners coming out of round 5 receives an additional: $200 (Semi's)

Winner coming out of round 6 receives an additional: $310 (Championship - total payout $700)

Points:

Each golfer gets two points for participating in Match Play.

Each golfer gets two points for each match won.
